About Kalgi Care
Care built by a nurse, for people a system too often rushes
Kalgi Care exists because our founder spent years watching good people receive rushed, fragmented support — and knew it could be done properly.
Registered Nurse owned
Our story
Started at the bedside, not in a boardroom
Kalgi Care is owned and clinically led by Pushpinder Kaur, a Registered Nurse who has spent a career caring for people with complex health needs — in hospitals, in aged care, and in people’s own homes.
What I saw again and again was the same gap. A participant would have a nursing need and a daily living need, and two different providers would turn up with two different plans, neither aware of the other. Wounds would be missed. Medications would drift. Small changes a nurse would have caught in a heartbeat would become hospital admissions.
So I built the provider I wished my patients had: one team, one plan, and a Registered Nurse accountable for the whole picture. We support participants across the Sunshine Coast and the Gympie region — including the smaller towns that larger providers tend to drive past.
What we stand for
Five things we will not compromise on
Dignity first
Personal care is intimate work. We move at your pace, ask before we act, and never treat a task as more important than the person it is being done for.
Clinical honesty
If a support is not right for you, is not safe, or is not the best use of your funding, we will say so — even when saying so costs us the work.
Genuine choice and control
You choose who supports you, how, and when. You can change your mind, raise a concern or make a complaint without any effect on your care.
Reliability
Missed shifts are not an inconvenience, they are a safety issue. We staff sustainably so that the person who is meant to arrive, arrives.
Cultural respect
Your language, faith, food, family structure and customs shape your care. We ask, we listen, and we match staff accordingly wherever we can.
Clinical governance
Plans are written, reviewed and updated. Incidents are recorded and learned from. Competency is verified, not assumed.
Registration & compliance
Who we answer to
Being a registered NDIS provider is not a badge — it is an ongoing obligation, independently audited.
Kalgi Care is registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission under provider registration number 4-LYEVJIZ, and operates under ABN 20 691 505 361. That registration means we are held to standards that unregistered providers are not.
What we are required to do
- Meet the NDIS Practice Standards, verified by independent audit
- Comply with the NDIS Code of Conduct in every interaction
- Maintain NDIS Worker Screening Clearances for all workers
- Operate documented complaints and incident management systems, including reportable incidents
- Hold current professional indemnity and public liability insurance
- Maintain AHPRA registration for all nursing staff
What that means for you day to day
- Every person who enters your home has been screened and inducted
- Your supports are documented, reviewed and adjustable
- You have a clear, safe way to raise a concern — internally or externally
- High intensity supports are delivered only by verified, supervised staff
You can always go outside us
If you are not satisfied with how we handle a concern, you can contact the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission directly on 1800 035 544. We will never discourage you from doing that. See our feedback and complaints page.
